Double exposure and poetry

This poem was created by selecting words and phrases from my response to interview questions I put together for other mothers about their pregnancy and postpartum experiences in the COVID-19 Pandemic. Around the same time, this double exposure was made 4 months after my son was born and 3 months into the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. My postpartum experience was and always will be tied to the pandemic. I will never be able to separate the two. The simultaneity of my postpartum and pandemic experience continue today as I process the last year and continue to raise my son in a world I never envisioned.
