At the beginning of the pandemic in the U.S. I was 6 mo. pregnant, & my toddler was a month away from their 2nd birthday. We isolated immediately. It was a bad pregnancy & horrendous birth with a lot of trauma & beautiful moments.
The way I ended up measuring time, though I didn't realize it until I put my work together, was by my prenatal & postnatal appointments. Every visit to the clinic, I sketched what I saw while I waited. About six months postnatal I began to work from my sketches to create finished pieces about the clinical & emotional combinations of pregnancy.
