Journal, collage, pens and paint

A4

This piece was made in response to my experience of trying to work and home school (do school work in the house) with my youngest son in January 2021. I have used the worksheets he was sent from school and cut up images of skeletons to represent the fragmented parts of myself, my son and our relationship. Around the edge I've drawn (on the worksheets) pictures of things I enjoyed doing together and was pulled to do in this time. The comment at the top of the page is inspired by something a friend said and reads 'a reminder that I am a bag of bones floating in the universe trying to guide another bag of bones' which to me sums up the ridiculously stressful yet insignificant nature of trying to balance things as a mother during the pandemic.
